Born and raised amidst the stucco, flight paths, and palm trees of Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, Jacob Hayman served as a projectionist and culture writer before a chance meeting with the legendary Roger Corman (The Intruder) at Comic-Con led to his first paid job on set.
He would then go on to freelance in various capacities for the likes of ABC, FX, Lionsgate, Netflix, Nickelodeon, and Wayfarer, among others, before becoming a features Casting Assistant to Jan Glaser (The Munsters), commercial Casting Coordinator for Clio-winner Terry Berland (‘Invader Zim’), and unscripted Casting Associate under Artios Award-nominee Katy Wallin (‘Wipeout’). In 2020, he was a participant in the Casting Society’s pilot BIPOC Alliance program under Artios Award-winner Stephanie Holbrook (Thoroughbreds), and in 2021 was partnered with Wheelhouse DNA’s Adden Laughlin Silverman for a mentorship through the Hollywood Radio & Television Society.
Features for which he served as Casting Director have won ‘Feature Drama’ and ‘New Visions’ at Cinequest 2022 (Trust), as well as ‘Best Actress’ at the 2023 DTLA Film Festival (This Is Your Song), while Wine Club was nominated twice for ‘Best Actor’, and once for ‘Best Comedy Feature’ at Kevin Smith’s 2023 Smodcastle Film Festival. Additionally, he was the Production Coordinator on Katie’s Mom, which won ‘Best Fusion Feature’ from Dances With Films. His short film producing debut, the body horror comedy Fudgie Freddie, screened at Beyond Fest and was nominated for ‘Best Midnight Short’ and ‘Best Actor’ at FilmQuest. His most recent casting credit, Taboo, premiered at Cinequest in 2025.
Somewhere amidst all that, after a brief stint at Endorse Management Group, he was asked to join the ranks of Citizen Skull Productions as a Junior Literary Manager in 2022. There, he represented a developmental client roster of AFF, Fantaspoa, ScreamFest, Slamdance, and WGA Award-winning talents while founding the company’s [still ongoing] bi-monthly ‘First and Third Wednesdays’ networking event. Concurrently, and until the latter’s passing, he also read scripts and did research assignments for Oscar-winning producer Fred Roos (Godfather Part II), and was a Juror for both ScreenCraft (2024) and the Austin Film Festival (2024-25).
In 2025 he voluntarily left CSP to focus on some personal projects, and as of 2026, he is once again available for new roles and collaborations.
A fan of maximalist trash and minimalist beauty, he’d love to bring more silliness and heart into the world before it explodes.
He has been interviewed on Jenna Malatskey’s ‘Behind the Now’ podcast, as well as in Shoutout LA and Voyage LA.
